Me, Mom, Dad and Jane came out for some skiing.

The first day we got 28″ of powder – so much that I couldn’t even drive to the slopes!

The following day had even more snow – another 18″.

I found a trail where my pole went all the way to the handle in the pow.

On that trip I also finally got to ride the new gondola!

Awesome views and sooooooo much territory to ski!

We skied a couple days at Deer Valley too!

We headed down to Baton Rouge to attend Desiree and Christian’s wedding.

Travel on both ends had weather and technical delays and so we spent 2 nights in Houston and were late to the wedding.

Anyhow, it was at a beautiful old plantation and Lethy had a lot of fun dancing.

I swear, I’m tall but I’m not a giant…

The next night we went out to New Orleans, walked the French Quarter, people watched, and then settled in to a 70s, 80s and 90s rock dive bar. Great time!

We would return in August and use the Deer Valley house for the first time.

It was certainly sad to be transforming the condo into a purely investment property, but the Deer Valley property sure is great to relax at:

There are about 4 different hikes of varying difficulty right out the front door practically.

Jane and Katie came out with us.

That trip we also went down to arches for several days.

The highlight was a very early, in the dark hike up to Delicate Arch to watch the sunrise.

For 4th of July we came out to Utah.

Most of the trip was spent preparing the Deer Valley property to be habitable.

Of course, we did take a break for some Squatters breakfast one day:

Last week, Lethy and I along with our friends Dave, Liz, Steve and Nancy spent a week out in Utah!

Lethy and I flew out early Friday the 12th and did costco and supermarket shopping.

Late that night, Liz and Dave arrived.

13th: Park City! Liz took a lesson, could hardly recognize her on the slopes after!

Late 13th, Steve and Nancy arrived, despite Delta’s best efforts to the contrary!

14th: Nancy was in an all day lesson. Steve, Dave, Liz and I went all over PC in heavy falling snow!

14th Evening – Valentine’s Day at Prime! Tony on the guitar, a wonderful night!

15th – Relaxation day. Lethy and Liz hit the spa, everyone else rested their legs!

16th – Deer Valley. Dave, Steve and I skied just about every blue they had open. Nancy skied every molecule of snow they had one Wide West!

17th – Snow Shoeing at Solitude… we did most of the loops they had, but the uphill on the Pink trail nearly broke us! So much harder than skiing….

After snowshoeing, lunch at Squatters

…and then we went to the crater. No pics from inside, but that whole neighborhood had crazy ice formations at each natural spring!

The 18th was meant to be more skiing at PC, but mother nature brought crazy wind. Lifts closed at 10am and never really reopened. Worst of all, a tree fell on the gondala, and we’d never get to ride it….

But we made the most of it and relaxed…..

The 19th we did ski quite a bit of blues at PC.

The 20th was a relax and pack day. We did do some walking around town….

And finally on the 21st, we headed home!

All pictures I’ve collected so far here and videos from the slopes on a youtube playlist here..
