Up at 8 and packing. Breakfast at 9. Then we decide to explore the hotel and grab some photos:

View from the 18th floor

Traditional ceramic dolls in the Business Center

We check out just before noon and hit the road. Their directions were not very clear or perhaps something was lost in translation, but it was a short detour and we’re on the autopista quickly heading through downtown Caracas towards the airport. Lethy is excited about her upcoming photography class and gets all artistic! But don’t worry, I’ll spare you the raindrops photos… They’re in the album if you want to see them though!

Nice flowers, Autofocus Fail

Lethy's thirst for coffee would finally be satiated if we could only get that 10 story tall cup!

Every inch of retaining wall has a mural or Chavez propoganda

Landing gear up! We assume to keep feet dry?

The only ad with a woman who is clothed in all of Venezuela

Coordinated house colors!

Colorful barios

More typical (less colorful) barios

Did I mention the wipers sucked? And wiper fluid doesn't exist there?

I wonder if they had to come back and add the Chavez star...

Lift off. Panama City here we come.

We'll be back soon...

The rest of the trip was largely uneventful except that the car service clipped a deer on the Palisades. Cracked bumper and that was it. Deer ran off, so that was a good sign. Home and in bed around 4:30AM. Tomorrow (today?) will be a long, long day.
